Film Idea:

The plot of our movie involves a soldier who goes back to the UK after fighting in a war overseas. During this warm, his best friend and fellow soldier was killed, leaving his wife alone with her kid.
The mother is devastated and blames the death of her husband on the soldier, the kid on the other hand is merely looking for a father figure. As the movie progresses the soldier and the kid will becomes friends. By the end the soldier will fill the void that his best friend left on the family, he will become the paternal figure of the kid and the mother will come to her senses and realize how he had nothing to do with her husband's death.

Reasons for this movie:

We had several other ideas that would have worked great. The problem was that either the execution for these movies would have been too complex, most had some kind of plot twist by the end or would require the use of advanced after-effects, or they would have elements not allowed by the IB, such as drugs, guns, violence, swearing ... 

This are the main reasons why we chose to go for the Idea above, it is challenging enough for my team so that it is withing their levels of current expertise on their given fields and it doesn't involve drugs or any other controversial theme.

Work Done Today:

Today we've discussed the plot and why we should go for this idea, the characters involved along with actors that could play their given character, and finally some important key locations where we could shot without much trouble. 
We've started to with the storyboard, adding more to the plot. We've drawn 5 specific shots that will serve as the opening of the movie.

Complications:

Finding a character for the kid wont be easy. The kid is one of the most important characters in the film and so we need someone who isn't just a decent actors (unusual for children) but also available most of the time in case we need to re-shoot a scene. Also we will need permission from their parents as they would still be a child.
